Michael David Meek, based in California, is a seasoned Special Educator and U.S. Army Logistics Officer known for his leadership and dedication in the education and military sectors. He has completed three overseas deployments as a U.S. Army Officer, including voluntary humanitarian missions in Afghan orphanages. Here, he began his dual career track by providing exceptional education support, sparking his ambition to enhance learning for special needs students and preparing them for future self-sufficiency.

With three graduate degrees in Education—School Administration, Student Learning and Technology, and Special Education his academic foundation has fueled a career marked by significant community engagement, diligent work ethic, and a demeanor well-suited to an Army officer’s responsibilities. He has nearly 35 years of experience in education, leadership, and administration, earning accolades such as the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. His efforts extend to influencing legislation and enhancing public and private commitment to education.

Military Career

Michael’s military journey began at nearly 40 when he joined the California Army National Guard. Distinguished by his physical fitness and leadership, he completed extensive military training, including the Captain’s Career Course and Intermediate Level Education, preparing him for high-level command and logistical roles. As a Logistics Officer, he managed supply operations worldwide and facilitated community-military relations. Currently a Major, he has commanded the 1114th and 1498th Transportation Companies, overseeing significant troop management and operational logistics.

Civilian Education

His educational path started with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management and a Master of Arts in School Administration. He further expanded his expertise with a Master’s in Student Learning and Technology in 2004. His extensive education has enabled him to lead classroom training on behavior management and inclusivity. His graduate degree in Special Education highlights his commitment to diverse educational needs.

Professional Career

Michael has significantly impacted public education, focusing mainly on Behavior Support Programs and integrating technology to advance learning. His diverse experience and forward-thinking approaches have made him a notable speaker on educational leadership and team dynamics.

Drawing from his military service and international experiences, he has crafted a range of motivational topics for various audiences, including educational institutions across all grade levels, organizations, and businesses. His presentations inspire students, parents, and professionals to embrace new visions and opportunities. In his free time, he coaches cross-country and is an active speaker at various military events.

Recreation & Hobbies

Michael David Meek, a dedicated runner for over 40 years, has completed 30 marathons and two Ironman competitions. His achievements include a second-place finish in a 50-mile race in Afghanistan. He also enjoys coaching cross-country and collecting vintage BMW motorcycles, adding a personal touch to his distinguished career.
